Holland America Line’s Rotterdam departed earlier on its 14-day maiden voyage from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The cruise line celebrated the event with fanfare, cheering crew and a ribbon chopping to welcome friends on board the transatlantic cruise.

The two,668-guest Rotterdam was delivered in July and is the third within the Pinnacle-class sequence for Holland America Line.

Final week the ship arrived at its namesake metropolis of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the place it was introduced that princess Margriet of the Netherlands would be the ships godmother when it’s formally named within the spring.
