Accor is planning to convey the posh Fairmont model to Australia for the primary time.

The hospitality large has unveiled plans to open the Fairmont Port Douglas in Far North Queensland in 2023.

Set on the sting of two UNESCO World Heritage websites – the Nice Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest – the resort has been sustainably designed to offer again to the setting.

“We’re excited to convey the extraordinary Fairmont model to Australia and are assured that Fairmont Port Douglas will ship a brand new stage of luxurious and class to one of many nation’s most glamourous resort cities,” stated Simon McGrath, chief working officer, Accor Pacific.

“Accor continues to increase its luxurious choices in Australia and, as our first Fairmont, that is going to be a very particular resort, whose structure mimics the wealthy biosphere of the Daintree Rainforest and, which is centred on well-being, nature and cultural immersion.”

Fairmont Port Douglas will boast 253 rooms, a number of eating places and bars, a decadent day spa, a treetop stroll and panoramic convention and wedding ceremony services, all designed round resort-style swimming pools and constructed to mix seamlessly with nature.

“We’re proud to ship such a high-quality challenge to the individuals of Port Douglas and consider the Fairmont model will convey the right combination of native focus, sustainability and international experience to the resort,” stated developer Paul Chiodo.

“Chiodo Company seeks to create areas which might be constructed across the setting and native tradition and we consider that the Fairmont model shares this ethos.

“Collectively, we’ll ship a significant connection to the area people by way of this beautiful resort.”

The coastal city of Port Douglas is positioned only one hour’s drive from Cairns and is the right base for holidaymakers trying to discover two of Australia’s most iconic sights.
