Lava glow colours at Kilauea Caldera

Lava glow colors at Kilauea Caldera

Mahalo to Suzanne Kemp from Logan, Utah for sharing this fascinating shot with us for Aloha Friday Photos.

Suzanne took this photograph a Kilauea volcano in Hawaii Volcanoes Nationwide Park  whereas she was on a around the island tour. The colours on this image come from the glow of the lava within the caldera.

Suzanne’s photograph was taken through the earlier eruption in March. In Could the seen lava exercise took a pause till this week, when lava erupted once more on the identical spot!

This photograph illustrates why viewing lava exercise is finest at nightfall, darkish or daybreak as that is when you’ll be able to see the lava colours and/or the glow that it creates. If this identical shot was taken within the daytime, you wouldn’t see these dramatic colours. As an alternative, you’ll solely see grey smoke. See extra Hawaii lava viewing tips.

Blissful Aloha Friday!
