This place is legendary for its lavish heritage, proud tradition, good structure and tales of terracotta. Adi Malla established the Malla dynasty. Jagat Malla, the 10th Malla king shifted his kingdom to Bishnupur.
Bishnupur is most well-known for its stunning terracotta temples. Going through a scarcity of stones to construct temples, the Malla kings constructed grand terracotta shrines to rejoice their love for Lord Krishna. The distinctive structure included numerous kinds from the neighboring areas.
